The 'Falcon' which was ordered... turned out to be a Holden! It got us there and back alright.
Tea on the south bank, and this is the steak knife I got given for eye fillet... wondered if I had to butcher the bull myself.
Apparently they had seafood linguini on the menu too!!
A lovely young couple we had dinner with :)
Then on to Ballarat. Had a great weekend all together. Three sisters with their hubbies. Thankfully the sunshine showed up on the last day where we had lunch lakeside.
Wellington airport.. missed our 4pm flight due to slightly later landing, ours being the very last bags to arrive, a mix up in customs queue, gate refusing to open for Stuart, then we had over four hours wait till the next flight ... This was Peter Jacksons larger than life Gollum and fish to look at while trying to snooze in a very uncomfortable tub chair.
Isaac had his end of year pre-school picnic and christmas carols in the park Friday evening. Grandma hovered close by.
Isaac didn't mind getting a chocolate santa and marshmallows along with candy cane - just one means the whole bag :)
One of the three bouncy castles. A family affair below.
Yesterday we picked up 17 standard and 4 bush roses... the car made a good ute!! Spent all afternoon planting, along with a few more buxus around the lawn edge. Managed to get sunburn on the back of my neck - made a change from last weekend in Ballarat!! Boys it was cold over there. Your fire was lovely though Shirl.I chose Astrid Grafin von Hardenberg as a replacement for Black Beauty who didn't survive the planting of bare root winter roses - its gorgeous and has a wonderful perfume!
Dad is very happy to be mowing the grass for the first time!! Thought he could do it while I planted roses. But we managed to get the planting done first. All David Austin old english standards along in front of the house now.
Graeme got the posts and trusses up for the pergola while we were away. May just put 6 purlins from back to front for now and work out if we want to roof it later. Should be an ok area for wedding signatories? Now just have to chase the tile people to get the natural stone pavers layer on the concrete underneath.
That's us till next time.
